What is Tantasia Self Tanner?

Tantasia is a self tanner that is supposed to give you the glow of a tan without the orange tinted skin, streaky lines, gross smell and the over processed elbows, ankles and palms that you get with many of the self tanners out there.  Tantasia promises a fresh look with the zippy smell of citrus fruit. Tantasia works on both the body and on the face and claims that their formula won’t block your pores or cause you to break out. They also say that there product is different than others because it an entirely new approach to self-tanning. Their formula is said to work with the body’s own tanning process. If this product lives up to its claims, they may be on to something. Self tanning is a risky business; and it is rare to find a tanner that can make you look like you have actually been kissed by the sun.

 

 

Tantasia Self Tanner Ingredient Profile

The ingredients this tanner uses are different than most tanners. The average tanner uses the ingredient Dihydroxyacetone, which is actually imposing artificial color onto your skin. Another problem with this ingredient is how our skins natural shedding process is, this means that the imposed color comes off quickly and unevenly. Tantasia ingredients are said to works with your body’s own tanning process, the production of melanin, to develop a safe, longlasting and completely natural tan.

 

Tantasia uses 3 complexes in this product to create the tan.

• Vitex Angus Castus (which is Acetyl Tyrosine and Monk’s Pepper)- this complex stimulates melanocytes to produce melanin which means your body is making its own melanin which is exactly what the sun exposure causes the skin to do.
• Copper Gluconate- enzymatic bioactivator which helps your skin create even more color.
• Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) that is bonded to a natural vegetable amino acid compound- making it different then other products DHA because it is buffered decreasing streaking and allowing a more intense, deeper, longer lasting tan.

Final Thoughts

It seems to me that this tanner is a good one. Between the reviews I read and the ingredients I haven’t found any real negative things associated with this product. The only real con I can see, besides the cheesy name, is the wait time until you can get dressed. I hate having to stand there and dry for 15-20 minutes, I like tanners that don’t take too much time. Although it is a little more expensive then the tanner you’d buy in a grocery store, it isn’t any more than a few spray tans. And if it works than the cost is well worth saving your skin from the suns damaging rays. I am still a little weary just because I really have yet to see a tanner that really makes you look tan or that doesn’t smell weird. This product may be one that I need to check out this summer.
