Photo-damaged skin is the damages done to the skin by exposure to UVA and UVB rays (aka: the sun!). Almost everyone has some sort of photo-damage, it is the severity of the damage that is what usually makes people cringe.

I, for one, spent way to much fun in the sun without the right amount of sunscreen. The summer when I was 17 I was laying out all the time, hiking, jogging outside and hitting the tanning beds as if there would never be any negative side effects from this behavior. At the age of 27 I already was showing some effects and had some pretty dark freckling on my face that was hard to cover up with makeup, after thousands of dollars and uncomfortable laser treatments I was finally able to get my skin looking clearer and brighter, which made me look considerably younger.

This DNA Total Repair is said to give you the results I received against photo-damaged skin but without the pain and the price. This cream promises that through its DNA repairing ingredients that help the skin heal from within from the damages caused by the sun’s harmful rays.

Neova claims that by using their DNA Total Repair cream that you will see visible differences in your skins texture, tone, coloring, brightness and a decrease in fine lines and wrinkles.

Final Thoughts

Although this product makes some pretty bold claims and seems to have some pretty impressive ingredients, I have to say that I am not totally sold that this facial cream can really revese the signs of photo-damaged skin the way this one promises too. I do think this is a pretty good basic anti-aging cream but that it won’t truly be able to clear up the photo-damage like promised. Photo-damage is rooted deep in the skin and can’t usually be penetrated by a cream that can only soak in so far, that is why lasers are so much more effective, they can actually reach the core of the problem.

I would suggest to keep looking for a product that has some good clinically studies and more testimonials backing it, or save your pennies and get a photo-facial at your dermatologist’s office or a medical spa near you.
