Dermalogica Total Eye Care says your morning should not be ‘boring’ and to ‘lighten it up with a wrinkle cream’!  Do wrinkle creams really make our lives  that exciting in the morning?  I think not!!  Dermalogica claims it is an advanced alpha hydroxyl cream that repairs and protects the delicate eye area.  They say it works in four ways to improve the skin.  The four ways are sunscreen protection, minimizes dark circles, toning and firming and last but not least,  reducing puffiness under the eyes.  By placing a dab around the entire eye area and blending it in it each morning we are well on our way to wonderful eyes.  Or are we?  What is in this wrinkle cream that can help us and what are others saying?

Many of the customers liked the moisturizing effect Dermalogica Total Eye Care had but several said it did nothing for the dark circles under the eyes.  There were various complaints of being irritating to the eye area and caused redness to the area.  There were complaints that it made that delicate area sensitive and does not get distributed verily easily.  Another common complaint was it was hard to apply concealer.  Some liked the lightner effect and others said it made their dark circles more prominent.

Ingredients are listed in order of quantity:

• Water
• C12-15—used as a emollient and thickening agent
• Alpha Hydroxy—can be an exfoliate that is derived from plant sources or from milk
• Glycerin—prevents drying and scaling
• Silica—found in sandstone and clay.  Principal ingredient of glass.  In make-up it is used as an absorbent powder and thickening agent.
• Lactic Acid—exfoliates cells—may irritate
• DEA-cetyl phosphate—keeps unlike ingredients together and is essential in most cosmetics
• Magnesium Aluminum Silicate—powdery and dry feeling and is used as a thickening agent
• Lithium Oxide—protects against UVA rays

Dermalogica Total Eye Care is used every morning.  A dab of wrinkle cream is placed around the entire eye area and is blended inward from the outer corner of the eye.  It can be used under make-up or alone.

Dermalogica Total Eye Care is a wrinkle cream that says it is an advanced alpha hydroxyl cream that repairs and protects the eye area.  What is advanced alpha hydroxyl?  It is just a fancy way of making it look more important because it is just for the purpose of exfoliation.  The majority of the  ingredients in Dermalogica  are more for the purpose of thickening rather than improving the appearance of our eyes.  We may as well just use shortening on our faces if we want a ‘thickener’!  The sunscreen in this wrinkle creat is only SPF 15, where most effective wrinkle creams use atleast SPF 45.  There were many complaints of irritation to the eye area which is always a concern.
